I haven't managed to get out camping recently but did manage a wee photo excursion with a mate this week. We parked up at a place called Port Braddan and walked towards the small harbout at Dunseverick. It's a beautiful area and it's possible to walk all the way from the Giants Causeway to Ballintoy harbour passing Dunseverick, Port Braddan and along the beach at White Park Bay. The shots below were taken between Dunseverick and Port Braddan.
Some nice pics there. When I was on the Galloway hills last weekend the air was really clear with great views of Arran and what I think was the Isle of Man. And then in the far distance.......Could that have been Antrim?

ReplyDeleteJames, you can see the Antrim coast easily from the Galloway hills although you'd be looking at the East Coast (Glens of Antrim). From the North Coast you can see Islay and Jura and if you know where to look you can just make out the American Red Cross monument on the Mull of Oa about 50 miles away. The Mull of Kintyre is closer at about 11 miles from the North Eastern tip of the Antrim coast at Fair Head.

ReplyDeleteThat looks strangely like where I was walking last week - south west Mull out to the Carsaig Arches. I guess that isn't really a million miles away from you!
Climbed Ben More with the promise of seeing Antrim but couldn't see much of Mull from the top :(
